Business Insider reported on August 30 that the CBOE (Chicago Board Options Exchange) is looking to launch futures trading for Ethereum.
Sources told Business Insider that the CBOE plans to launch Ether futures by the end of 2018. The CBOE will, reportedly, base it's futures on the Gemini market. The CBOE also based it's Bitcoin futures on the Winklevoss Twins' Gemini market.
Business Insider reported that the CBOE is waiting for the Commodities Future Trading Commission to give the product approval before launch. Earlier this year the SEC determined that Ethereum was not a security.
