Ethereum Used For World Bank’s New Bond

The worlds first block chain backed bond has been developed by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) for the World Bank, using Ethereum and is hosted on Microsoft’s Azure cloud

  • Raised $80.4m so far
  • Bond-i s a two year bond paying 2.2%
  • AAAA rating

Named Bond-i after the famous Bondi beach and also as a acronym for Blockchain Operated New Debt Instrument, the reception has been ‘overwhelming’

The bonds are due to be settled on August 28th, and mature in two years’ time, on August 28th 2020.
