Revolut, a smartphone based banking app, has announced their intention to expand to the United States after reaching 28 European nations.
The CEO of Revolut, Nikolay Storonsky, stated at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference that the company does “everything that banks do but ten times faster and ten times cheaper”.
One of the features that intrigues the cryptocurrency crowd is that users can get cash back on purchases in the form of cryptocurrency using the Revolut metal card. This cash back in crypto is stored in a cold wallet to provide effective security for the storage of tokens as well as full-scale penetration and stress tests on the network.
Revolut is also looking to enter the commission free trading space that is currently occupied by their competitor Robinhood, and to include cryptocurrencies in it.
